AI MASAYA NAKAHARA「DRAWING A NOVEL WITH VOCAL CORDS!!」Presented by UKAWA NAOHIRO & DOMMUNE

At DOMMUNE, we are launching a project to support writer and noise musician Masaya Nakahara, a Mishima Prize–winning author who, due to diabetic complications, suffered a stroke that left him with paralysis on his left side, severe vision loss, and a wheelchair-bound life. The project is titled “AI MASAYA NAKAHARA｜DRAWING NOVEL WITH VOCAL CORDS!!”
We are building a knowledge base using all of Nakahara’s writings—including his novels, autobiography, and critical texts—and expanding it through RAG. In parallel, we are cloning his vocal signature to create “VOCAL CORD AI MASAYA NAKAHARA” his digital twin.
With most of his vision lost, the living, physical Masaya Nakahara will engage in continuous dialogue with his Vocal Cord AI Masaya Nakahara, and together—via speech-to-speech co-creation—they will attempt to write a new novel aimed at winning the Akutagawa Prize. DOMMUNE will produce the entire project.
