SHIBUYA: Undergoing an ART x TECH Experiment.
How will the intersection of art and technology reshape our society and daily lives? With the dynamic public spaces of Shibuya as our experimental canvas, the possibilities are limitless. We invite artists from around the globe to reimagine the streets, parks, and various locales of Shibuya through the lenses of art, technology, and innovation. Together, we can create a brighter future by uniting Shibuya’s vibrant culture with cutting-edge global art. Please join us in Shibuya’s tradition – the evolution of art and technology.

Although the Shibuya River appears encased in concrete, a quiet diversity of life persists—algae, microorganisms, plants rooted in embankment gaps, and small creatures inhabiting these hidden spaces. This project visualizes these ecosystems through an outdoor installation centered on moving image, inviting viewers to re-experience the Umwelt embedded in the city.
●Installation 15:00-18:00 ●Talk & Live Event 18:00-23:00
Official Program
DOMMUNE is launching a project to support the disability of Nakahara Masaya, a Mishima Prize-winning author and noise musician who suffered a cerebral infarction as a complication of diabetes, resulting in significant loss of physical function and vision, and now lives in a wheelchair. The project is titled “AI Nakahara Masaya! Drawing Novels with Vocal Cords!” We will build a knowledge base using all of Nakahara's texts—novels, autobiographies, critiques—as source material and expand it using RAG. We will also clone Nakahara's own voiceprint to create “Vocal Cord AI Masaya Nakahara.”
Using Shibuya’s diverse, distributed digital signage, we develop original public artworks in collaboration with artists, based on research into each site’s specific characteristics and surrounding environment. Through interviews and contextual analysis, local conditions and histories are integrated into the creative process, resulting in expressions grounded in urban context.
